Creating and editing captions in Panopto

Creating video content with an accessibility-first mindset is quickly becoming a best practice in the digital era. From closed captioning to downloadable video transcripts, access for everyone is a top priority.

With Panopto you can either manually caption your session in the Editor or you have the ability to add ASR (automatic speech recognition) generated captions to your Panopto sessions. Every video uploaded into Panopto (whether it was created with Panopto or not) is machine-transcribed using ASR technology.  Recommend method is importing automatic captions first and then editing the captions given as needed.
