Synnyt/Origins: Finnish Studies in Art Education, is an academic journal that reports research in art and its education.
Synnyt/Origins is an international journal that serves as a platform for critical comprehension of theory and practice in art and design. Thematic scope of the journal includes, but is not limited to, the questions of art & design practice and production, criticism, pedagogy, curriculum and instruction. The journal grants an open access to all the publications and it is ranked in the publication forum of Finnish academic research.
The journal accepts submissions in English and in Finnish. In case with English language it is the author’s responsibility to make sure that the article he/s sends employs proper use of academic written language. The format of a submission can be a full article (max 6000 words), a visual essay (max 3000 words), a commentary (max 3000 words), or a media review (max 3000 words).
