| CS department chats |
Teams purpose is to increase our informal communication and enhance the sense of community, especially during this time of extended remote working. Everyone from the department is welcome to start and join discussions. As always, we encourage using your freedom of speech, but remember to be correct and follow Aalto code of conduct. Teams is department’s supportive communication channel and joining is voluntarily, join here. Department’s main information channels are still CS News and mailing lists. Chat can be a great way to quickly talk with others, share tips, and quickly get feedback on if a problem is large or small, you should ask or you should figure out yourself, etc. This is a good place to ask both from us and from other researchers, but for longer questions we’ll direct you to our issue tracker so we won’t lose track. The SciComp Zulipchat, scicomp.zulip.cs.aalto.fi is where we most often hang out. You can ask triton questions in #triton, general questions in #general, research software engineering questions in #rse, etc. The main point of Zulip is topics, which allow you to name threads and easily find old information. You can also chat with us on Aalto Microsoft Teams. The invite code is e50tyij.
Aalto Computer Science channels in social media: Follow us and do not hesitate to tag/mention @CSAalto in your posts. We appreciate if you share CSAalto posts too. We have a Telegram channel which reaches computer science students (bachelor and master's level) quite well.
