You can confirm a minor as part of your study right only if you have a study right for the education in which your plan is located.
You can search for minors and place them in only those parts of your study plan where they are allowed. In such cases, the info text "search only for minors" will appear in the selection assistant in your study plan.
When a minor which requires confirmation in order to add your study right to your study plan, you'll see a banner "Confirm the selection [name of the minor study module] as part of your study right?". You can either confirm the selection yourself or else you will need an administrative staff member to do it for you. To see if you can confirm the minor by yourself, click the Show button in the minor study module. You can see also this information also in the structure of the study plan. If you can confirm the minor yourself, the text "not confirmed" appears next to the module. If an administrative staff member is needed, you will see the text "No study right" next to the module.
If the minor doesn't require a separate application process, the text under the minor study module in the selection assistant will read "Selection requires confirmation". Click the Show button to confirm the minor. In the window that opens, you will see information on the minor awaiting your confirmation; you can confirm the selection or close the window without making any changes. The same window shows any earlier selections that you may already have confirmed as part of your study right. Please note that your right to study in the bachelor's or master's degree programme first needs to be confirmed before you can confirm the minor as part of that study right. When the selection has been confirmed, the text "Selection confirmed for your study right" appears under the minor in the selection assistant.
If the right to study the minor requires a separate application process, you will see the text "Requires a separate study right" under the minor in the selection assistant. You will also see the Show button, which opens a window as in the above, except this window notifies you that the study right for the minor requires a separate application process. Below the notification, instructions appear on how to apply for a study right to the minor, if administrative staff have added them to the information in Sisu.
How the confirmed minor shows in the study right
When your right to study the minor has been confirmed, you can see the information on the confirmed minor by clicking the Show button in the minor study module. You can also see all the minors that have been confirmed for your study right from the Study rights tab on the My profile page. Please note that deleting a confirmed minor from your study plan doesn't remove it from your study right. So you cannot delete confirmed minors from your study right; administrative staff can do this.
