With Panopto you can either manually caption your session in the Editor or you have the ability to add ASR (automatic speech recognition) generated captions to your Panopto sessions. Every video uploaded into Panopto (whether it was created with Panopto or not) is machine-transcribed using ASR technology. Recommended method is importing automatic captions first and then editing the captions given as needed.
