Overview

Cloud storage services are immensely popular. To ensure privacy for users, data can be encrypted on the client side before being uploaded to the cloud storage service. But doing client-side encryption naively conflicts with the business need of the storage provider to carry out cross-user deduplication: if multiple users upload the same file, the service keeps only one copy of it in storage. In this project, we investigate how to reconcile these seemingly contradictory requirements.
