Objective
The objective was to develop a proof-of-concept for an Android application that utilizes a chest-mounted IMU to monitor heart rate. The compatible sensor for the application is a mbientslab's Metawear sensor with a accelerometer.

Summary of results
A working Android application has been developed along with a casing and mounting method for the sensor. The application can monitor and visualize the heart rate of a stationary user and gives a BPM-count with an accuracy of +/- 3 BPM.
